Frequently Asked Questions

What does the dry price cover?
Your Ama Dablam climbing permit and two nights at our basecamp. You handle your own trek to/from basecamp, food, porters, accommodation en route, gear, and all other logistics.
How do I get to basecamp?
You organise your own transport. Most climbers fly to Lukla and trek via Namche Bazaar and Pangboche. The approach takes 5–7 days.
What experience is required?
Prior experience on 6,000m+ peaks is required. Ama Dablam involves steep ice climbing (up to 70 degrees), mixed terrain, and exposed ridge traverses.
Why is the permit more expensive?
Ama Dablam is a restricted peak requiring a special climbing permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. The permit fee is significantly higher than for trekking peaks.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes, mandatory. You need comprehensive travel and high-altitude insurance with minimum $200k helicopter evacuation cover.
